What is the Community Hub Network?
The goal of the Wellscapes Initiative is to improve physical activity in children; ultimately changing the way the community addresses youth health and wellness issues. To accomplish this, local individuals can come together and create a Community Hub. The Community Hub represents people from various organizations and settings working together to accomplish a common goal. The Community Hub uses data collected from different youth groups (e.g., school, after school, youth sport, etc.) to collaborate with one another and develop ways to improve physical activity in youth and potentially the overall health of children in their community.
What is the Role of a Community Hub Member?
Members can participate in Community Hub workshops in September, November, February, and April. Attendees will use data collected from different local community youth groups (e.g., school, after school, youth sport, etc.) to develop impactful decisions about youth health and wellness in the community. The four workshops will allow members to provide insight, create opportunities, implement changes and reflect on whether or not the changes made have impacted youth health and wellness in their community.
